I got my HP printer today at work and I am excited.  I can’t wait to print out stuff.  In other news, I bought a washer and dryer from a woman at work for 90 bucks!!!  My co-worker Doug is helping me pick it up.  Of course this means I have to clear out the laundry room.  I think I have enough boxes and old magazines in there to start a four-alarm fire.  Don’t get upset, I will recycle everything.  I am just happy to not walk to the laundromat every week after work or early on Saturday mornings.  It sucks even more when it is butt cold like it is now.  Incidentally, we are supposed to get some serious snow tonight and tomorrow.  Of course, I have heard this before, so I am not going to run out and get toilet paper or milk like a freak.  I never do that.  I always go load up on liquor, popcorn and junk food.

Oh my goodness I am sooooooo up to my knees in Flash!!!  It’s going to be it or me.  I contemplated throwing my lapdog out the window I am so frustrated.  A simple thing like loading a text file has turned into a saga.  Well, there can only be one…

I hope everyone had a happy holiday.  I went to my mom’s house and ended up cooking.  Why did I think that I wouldn’t have to do any cooking at her house?  All the other times, she would tell me she was taking care of everything, I would come there, and nothing was done. Or she would call me before I left to pick up something because she doesn’t have any food.  Yes, my mom did cook for my sister and myself until I was in the third grade, but then I took over.  I even ironed her work clothes!  My sister and I became very independent at an early age.  But getting back to my mom and her lack of food products:  she has a huge pantry and there is no food in it.  She has a wonderful kitchen and never really uses the stove.  She microwaves everything or orders take out.  If I had a kitchen like that, I would make dinners that are on the same level as Emeril or Bobby Flay!  My kitchen is small now, but seriously, I make some killer food in it.  But enough about that, let’s talk about the gifts.  My mom and I gave each other the same thing, which was a crap load of citrus basil stuff from Bath and Body Works.  I got my sister a subscription to Oprah’s magazine, gave my grandfather a picture of myself in a nice frame, and my uncle got Patti Labelle’s cookbook.  I got a sweater, some cash, a candle, and gift certificates from Blockbuster.  I have decided it was a good holiday.

I rolled over to the Sprint Store today and got my phone and my service connected in less than 30 minutes.  I just called myself.  How cool is that?  Okay that’s lame but I had to test it.  I am going to program the address book now.  By the way, I found a cool site.  You can get celebrity sightings, info on happy hours, and film reviews messaged to you on your cell phone.  Oh yeah, I am an info-aholic.

Boys girls, if you don’t have a cell phone now, go to Sprint and sign up. I love Sprint. My long distance bill was only $42!! [sic - as of 2004, I hate Sprint] Anyway, I want to be just like Geoff, so I am getting a Motorola Star Tac phone. And I am way more savvy than him, no offense dear, so I can pick mine up at the Sprint Store that is a 10 minute walk from my work. Aww yeah, once again it’s on….

I apologize for neglecting to post updates more often. I have been playing with my Lapdog whenever I can.  If you don’t know, my Lapdog is my Sony Vaio notebook.  I have also been watching too many makeover and home decorating shows and (gasps) oh my — I have cleaned my house!  Now I just have to finish my Christmas shopping, sign up for a driver’s ed class, contemplate my destiny, find a java class, decide where and if I want to move, and figure what I am going to do for New Year’s Eve.  No pressure.

Everyone from my department was invited to a lunch meeting with the CEO of our company. It was cool because we got the food before he started talking.  It was nice to be able to sit and talk about things and get a better perspective of my company.  And you know I chowed down!  I was stuffed, but I made room for cookies. My boss’ boss gave me a bath bomb from Lush in London.  She was in London last week and so was my mom.  Mama B brought back some hand cream and some shower stuff for me.  I was sooooo happy.  I can’t wait to take a long luxurious bath and smell like fresh flowers!

I am still getting accustomed to my baby.  I have named him Lapdog and he is beautiful.  So now I have no choice but to make some changes.  Starting with this site.  Oh yes, it will be sweet.  Speaking of sweet,  I made some baked chicken with rosemary, honey and lemon tonight.  It was great with the long grain wild rice.  I also did some major cleaning at home, only because I am lame.  I did do some shopping at Arundel Mills, the new outlet mall here in Maryland.  Basically, Maryland sucks so this is what we look forward to for entertainment.  Anyway, my mom took me there and purchased an oh so lovely laptop case for my baby. It is from Wilsons Leather and it is sweet.  I snagged yet another laptop case from Eddie Bauer.  I know, I know, 2 cases, but one is waterproof.  I don’t want my baby to get sick!  Of course I went to the Gap and picked up 2 sweaters and I did get some leather gloves from Eddie Bauer.  So now I am going to take my lame ass to bed.

And there was much rejoicing!!  After approximately a week and a half of bitching and moaning about UPS not delivering on weekends, I have finally received my laptop.  My sweet, sweet Sony Vaio arrived at work today and everyone was amazed.  It is very light, has all the software I want pre-loaded, and yes guys, size does matter.  I am talking about 15 inches of screen, my naughty elves.  It is beautiful, and I shall name him, Lapdog.
