The day after
I had a great time at a Halloween party. I went as the Not Milk girl. It was fun. A little Oil of Olay facial cream goes a long way. It seems as though I have lost my way since I lost that ring. And now other things are gone…

I just wanted all the ladies to know that if you feel like you don’t get carded at bars or clubs enough because you think you look old, get braces. I went to see the uncut version of The Exorcist on Saturday and I got carded for the movie. They asked me for ID, people, and I will be 28 next month!!! All that I am saying is, choose braces as an alternative to plastic surgery. My happy hour party went well on Friday. Everyone got trashed. On Sunday, I went to see dem dere O’s, hon. That’s Ballmerese for going to see the Orioles baseball game. It was the last game and we actually shut out the Yankees. I had some beers, a super dog and a pretzel, so I was happy. Mmmmmmmmm, super dog.
All hope is lost. This morning, as I was racing out the door for work, I lost my ring. I bought this ring in London for 3 bucks and I love it. Everyone loves it. They think it is a mood ring, because it is this beautiful bright blue stone on a silver setting. It has not rusted or left a green mark on my finger. I always wear it, I rub it when I am upset and I smile when I look at it. And it’s gone. Right now, I am not confident. I feel like my world is going to end. Things just don’t seem sunny without that ring.
Jeff and I were planning on watching the fight this weekend, but we were butt tired after eating dinner at Kisling’s. It sucks when people cancel parties at the last minute. I hate that. I am glad we didn’t pay for it, because I would have been pissed after that russian dumb ass walked off in the third round. On Saturday I stuffed myself with some pizza from Matthew’s Pizzeria and then we jetted to the cheapie theater to see The Patriot. It was an okay movie. I still have not decided on a Halloween costume. I think I will go as Mystique, from the X-Men movie, imitating Shenae. That is a good one. I could always go as the got milk girl, even though I hate milk.
I have to do a self assessment for work because my yearly review is coming. I am actually thinking of adding the following to my list of achievments:
Self Assessment for Shenae 1999-2000
Mr. UPS had a happy hour party last night at Have a Nice Day Cafe. It was cool. I did the hustle and I only messed up twice. I am a few steps closer to becoming a 70’s dance expert. I am watching the fight tonight at a mutual friend’s house on a big screen tv and I can’t wait. Jeff and I are doing the bar thing at Kisling’s first, and then we are heading to the party. We are talking a trailer park of beer tonight!!
I forgot to mention that this past weekend, I purchased a down comforter, some flannel sheets and a flannel duvet from Hecht’s. It was so nice to sleep in spanking new sheets, but my boys had to ruin it. A hairy paw that belongs to a fat cat named Mufasa woke me at 3 am this morning. And Diablo wanted attention. Apparently I am taking up too much space in the queen size bed. I was watching the show Cribs on MTV last night. Interesting stuff. Let’s just say my abode is humble. Actually, I will break it down for you: My place makes me look like a crack whore. I have bare walls everywhere and stuff piled on the floor. I had to do some rearranging to accommodate the gym, so my storage space is limited. Basically, I’m a slob.
The world is coming to an end. I was watching tv last night and one of those priceline.com commercials with William Shatner. These commercials are sometimes amusing, but I nearly gasped as I saw Lisa Loeb playing guitar in the most current one. What is happening here? On Saturday, I saw one of the best movies ever, Dancer in the Dark. It was awesome! I have a feeling that everyone is going to bill it as the next foreign hit like Life is Beautiful.
Do you know what I hate about the cold weather? You go outside, and it is so cold you are crying. I hate that. I watched Felicity last night. I cannot stand Ali Landry or whatever her name is. You know, the Doritos girl. She is not a hottie, all she has is hair. She can’t act to save her life. And on the subject of fall tv shows, why are all these shows debuting in freaking October? I remember a time when the fall season started in the fall. Your first day of school was the first day of season premieres. But I will still watch Friends and Will and Grace tonight, that is for damn sure.
How does it look? I am trying new things and I am a little scared about this. I am pleased by the simple things in life. I like deep, rich colors and sleek objects. I really love Geoff’s redesign, except I think Japanese fighting fish are cooler. Flash is not simple for me, but it will be soon.
