Working Girl

So I have been working as a personal chef and living in Miami Beach and I love it! I usually end up making whatever I want or suggest for dinner. My boss asked me to make a lunch to pack for air travel. It was for 4 people. I sauteed some shrimp with garlic, oregano and basil, I made baby spinach risotto and I made a nice salad with saba dressing. They loved it. And I cannot stand making risotto, but I have gotten better.

My culinary school held its graduation ceremony. Yeah, I thought I would be working, so I didn’t take the chance to purchase a plane ticket. But at least I graduated!!! I will go back to CA to pick up the rest of my stuff that is in storage and visit friends.

Ice Sculptures

We had a famous ice sculptor come to school and do a demonstration. It was cool because I got to the lay the nihon-go on him. Plus, it was a long day after only getting a few hours of sleep. I worked from noon until 9:30pm at the restaurant. Not only was I tired, but I was mad. I did get overtime, but I didn’t need it. I needed sleep! That is why I put in my two weeks notice yesterday. I was missing out on a lot of opportunities through school because I was working every weekend. I love the people I work with, but let’s face it, I am not going to make a career out of it. But I digress…After days of arguing with my computer and seriously contemplating throwing it out the window, I was finally able to update this site. Firewalls and ftp are a good thing, but figuring a way around them is bad. But in the end, I just changed my ftp access to passive in IE 6.0 and it worked. Sometimes I miss doing technical support. So about the site; if you have any ideas, please email me.

I love sausage

I still love sausage. In fact, I have seven ziploc bags of sausage in my refrigerator as we speak. I know, it’s a sickness that I can’t control. At least some of them are healthy. I worked tonight and went out for drinks with a co-worker because it was her last night on the job. I will miss Candace very much. This is the reason why I am up at this time. I had to check email and do some web stuff. And I had an itch for Maroon 5 and John Mayer. Now if I could just find a man that was the perfect combination of both, I would die a happy woman. But until then, there’s always sausage.

My favorite day

I love sausage. We made sausages today at school. When I have some more time, I will post the pictures of all my culinary delights.
